Does My Insurance Cover the Cleaning?

Many residents and business owners want to know if the cleaning costs are covered:

  • B.H.R. will handle all of the paperwork and claims to the insurance company at the request of the property owner with no additional cost.

  • Most bio-hazardous material decontamination and clean up is covered under a motor vehicle, homeowners, or business insurance policy. Normally there is no payment due at time of service, however the property owner can arrange for a full payment at time of service at their discretion.

  • Provided that the insurance company covers the costs of the bio-hazard decontamination the property owner is normally only responsible for their deductible. The deductible can be billed or it can be paid at the time of service.

  • Of course, any property owner can decide to pay the cost of decontamination without filing a claim with their insurance company if desired.

  • Most insurance companies will not pay for any clean-ups where a crime has been committed. In this scenario, B.H.R. will work with the victim to get the bio-hazardous clean up covered by the Florida State Victim’s Compensation Fund learn more about the Florida Victim's Compensation Fund
